I'm curious since we are on this subject, I had a 04' dodge durango. The front brakes on that SUV barely fit inside the rim. Looking at my 01' dakota front disc brakes, there is another inch of usable space (which can equal a lot of stopping forces if upgraded properly). Has anyone hear of any ways to enlarge our front disc brakes? And maybe replace the rear drums to discs.

I think 04 is when the durango changed, I may be wrong? But the durango front brakes may indeed cross over. Now that said, your durango may have had 15" wheels while your dak has 16" wheels, in which case there would be an appearance discrepancy.

rear drum to disk should be easy to find indeed, as durangos had rear disc, as did the rams, and i think cherokee's as well.

Notice some improvement on my brakes when I did my rears. This is what I ended up replacing:

New shoes
New hardware
New wheel cylinders
New brake lines
