Any car audio shop installation is a crap shoot as usually the installer is either a teenager or a reject from life sorry all you good installers but that's my experience with them. Usually you are luck to get away with no damage done to your car and half your wires are not damaged under the dash also with 2 pounds of tape holding it under the dash.
I had a shop install an antenna on my then new Dakota and the idiot kid scratched my paint were the antenna mounts actually he scraped paint off not a scratch and its still there to this day.

Is the amp even mounted? Or is it just sitting there? I can't really tell...
Well, this is why I always do my own work. I installed my Kicker KS10's with the help of 01SilverCC and they are awesome. I'm not an audio guy either, so it goes to show you anyone can learn with the help of these forums.

I spent 16 years in the car audio installation business. I started in a small local shop when I was 21 years old so I was no teenager and at no time during my car audio career did I ever consider myself or anyone I worked with to be a "reject from life". I worked with and learned from a lot of very talented and conscientious guys over the years. There were also a lot of younger guys who had little or no experience that started out just the same as I did, but everyone has to start somewhere, no matter what their job or career might be. There are probably a lot of younger guys learning car audio installation now but car audio and security is very different nowadays from when I did it. Back then and nowadays too there are bound to be hack masters and speed merchants out there that do sub-standard work and rip people off. But there are just as many good installers too, you just have to ask around and find a good shop by reputation and word of mouth from friends and colleagues. Nothing has changed in that aspect of the car audio business. Accidents will happen no matter how good you are. That has not changed either and a good shop will either pay to fix any mistakes they make or they will have insurance that will cover any damage, same as any other garage or even the car dealership.
I do agree that is not a very good job on the installation in the picture. Maybe that is what the CL poster wanted though. Back in the day we would always get customers asking for something that was either really stupid or unsafe, or both. I would not do a job like that, not back then and not now either. The trick in that situation was and is to get the customer to understand what they asked for makes no sense and explain to him the right, correct and safe way to do it and get him to agree to the job.
I would hate to see the guy that owns that truck get hit in a rear end wreck or any kind of wreck, really. None of those boxes or the amp look like they are mounted very securely and in a bad wreck they would be knocked loose and probably take someone's head off..

Looks good if you ask me......
Who would even waste the money to get that "professionally" installed? I've done better installs than that and wasnt even trying to get it to look professional lol
