Overhead trip computer not working

Yes that thread is quite helpful, actually. Thanks. I will look at it all again tomorrow.
One thing, what/where is the CCD bus? Is that simply referring to the OBDII diagnostic port below the steering?

Yes I believe so, that is where I remember splicing in 2 wires and I think where my problem lies possibly. I used those unreliable snap splice things that cuts through the jacket of the 2 wires you're connecting. Maybe next week I'll look at mine and refresh myself and try to figure out my problem as well and then I'll post up here what I find.

You can tap into the CCD bus at the OBD port but, if you have an '01 computer it won't work. It uses a different bus design.

I didn't make any further progress with the trip computer so far, for the moment there are bigger fish to fry. I did take a peek at the back brakes. Needless to say, I have a good sized order with RockAuto arriving this weekend!

I will also be looking around the local junkyards for a tonneau cover.
