Default Help Me Locate a Clunk

Since I've got this truck it will jump/clunk into gear when going from P to D or P to R.

Once in gear it shifts fine except for into OD.

Last night I had about 1100 lbs worth of flooring in the bed and I went to reverse out of a parking spot and it clunked and just died. Started up again and I was fine.

This morning pulling out of the garage I put it into D and again BANG jumped into gear, RPMs dipped but it didn't stall.

I originally thought tranny or motor mounts but from what I can tell they are fine.

Could it be tranny related? 42re with 59,000 kms

Thanks

shifter linkage, TV cable, and/or crank position sensor.

The crank sensor is new - I don't think its an issue with the TV cable as all gears shift fine once moving.

I just googled symptoms of a shift linkage failure but I'm not actually sure how I test it - any suggestions?
