I have a 99 Dakota Sport. I changed the intake gasket. When I started it I had 0 oil pressure. I thought maybe the pick up screen got clogged from newly loosened slug. I tried using an engine oil flush. After adding the flush the pressure went to normal. After draining it and filling it with oil, I have no oil pressure again. Ok... it picked up the sludge again. Added flush once more. Again the pressure went to normal and stayed there for 10 minutes while flushing. Drained it, filled with new oil and AGAIN no oil pressure! Oil is crystal clear. Can't figure out why it's normal with flush in it and zero with oil.
Engine has 249 K on it. Being 4 wheel drive, dropping the pan is a real pain! Have to remove the front axle and jack the engine up. Trying to avoid it if I can. Any thoughts?
