Which would be the best traction device?
Trent479 you never said WHY you want a traction device. For street? For offroad? How often will you need that traction?
Agree 100%! LSD are junk offroad, there slightly better then an open differential, but no where near 50/50 which is what a locker can give even with a tire in the air, try that with a LSD.
You hit it dead on the nail.
I have a Powertax No-Slip which I have had for a good 8 years or more on my rear axle of my Dakota which has been a daily driver all of those years. As most of you can tell I don't baby my truck but, I do take care of it, and that locker has been through it all and, still kicking a$$. In the front I now have an Aussie locker it so far is good, but due to having un-lockable hubs in the front, it only has little miles on it (only the offroad miles maybe 50 or so).
In situations where both tires have good traction (like drag racing), limited-slips work great. And the Auburn is nice because it doesn't have any clutch discs to break and go through your gears and bearings.
In off-road situations where one wheel has zero traction (like when it's up in the air), you can't beat a locker.
