Default 4x4 problem

hey guys I tried to shift my truck into fourwheel drive yesterday and the shifter wouldn't move any ideas of what the problem could be and where do I start looking to diagnose the problem? thanks guys

Were you moving or stopped? Sometimes if there's a load on it it can bind so try moving slowly when you shift.

yeah I tried both sitting still and rolling and it wouldn't shift still I'm lost

It's a simple linkage, just the one from the shifter to the transmission.

If the linkage won't move then it's an internal problem. You'll have to disassemble the transfer case - or swap it out.
