Default Steering Clunk, Pop, Groan, Leak

So as some of you know I've had this groaning/humming problem for a long time which I originally thought was a wheel bearing. Replaced both sides (driver's side twice) and didn't fix the problem.

Now I've got a few more problems... First off, when turning from a dead stop or turning while hitting a bump it'll make a clunking sound in which I can only describe as the sound of a bad strut - I checked the intermediate shaft and there really isn't any play so I'm also stumped here. I plan on taking the tire off this Friday and havin a look for anything else funky (ie: tie rods).

Now, the major issue is that I've noticed a leak coming from the ends of the front axle seals where the half shafts (I think thats what you call them). The seal on the passenger side looks completely destroyed.

From what I know when the rear axle seals go - they cost big $$$ to have fixed. Are the front's also expensive?

Getting close to cutting my losses here guys - nothing but problem after problem with the ol' Dak.

Yea a 4X4 is a money pit compared to a 2WD but if you need a 4X4 that's the way it goes.

I stay away from them for one I don't need it I'm a city driver number two they cost big money when they start falling apart.

You are at the money pit point

For the clunking/popping when turning, I woul bet it is caused by a ball joint, probably your upper.

Set up an appointment with my mechanic this morning.

Gonna have the whole front end checked out on Friday. Will report back what he finds and what the damages are.

Getting close to the point where we part ways! Would love to get a Tacoma but those damn things are so expensive.
