i'm not sure if any of those pics linked correctly... i had to upload them to Facebook and then link them because i didn't know any other way to get them on here. it said i was over my "attachment limit" or something.

Ok I have a 99 Dakota the transfer case blew out the tag says 231d hd serial number 5210 5242 so I was told any 231d transfer case will work which is incorrect anyway I bought a used one the tag says 231d serial number 5209 8314 and it’s not the same the drive shaft out of my Dakota will slide right in but the transfer case will not slide in to the transmission all the way the shaft in the transfer is to long any info

Possible difference between manual, and auto trans. Both cases came in the Dak, in both flavors. Probably the same as the full size trucks. (same transmissions as well....) The only difference between the d, and the dhd, is the width of the chain/gears. everything else is exactly the same. There were differences in the input hub between manual and auto trans, and various differences in shift patters, and provisions for VSS in the tailshaft of the case over the years as well. Makes it really fun to find one that will just bolt in.
