Default ball joints

HI all. Newbie to site and Dakota. First Dodge that I have owned. Bought an 01 Dakota a couple weeks ago. Nice truck, drives and handles well. 130,000 miles one owner and complete documented history. I read on this site that there was a ball joint problem. I noticed that there was a loud squeaking sound in the front end when pushing up and down on the bumper. It was coming from the ball sockets. Jacked up front end and everything seem tight. I have a grease needle so I injected it into the lower and upper joint rubbers and filled with grease. Drove it twenty miles or so and checked. Not a sound coming from the front now. Looks like this could be a way to extend the life of the joint .Any thoughts on this?
