Where in pa? I go to misericordia. Are you using rustoleum? Or something different? I've been thinking of doing this as well, only problem is my truck has a little bit of rust under it already

.Plastidip works well. I have used it many times. It will give a matte finish unless you order the "Glossifier" (Amazon has it). Just remember that when you tape off the areas around it you have to remove the tape while the product is still wet. If you let it dry it will bond to the tape and will peel the plastidip when you attempt to remove the tape. It is completely removable and probably the only stuff you will hear someone say put a good coat of wax on BEFORE you spray.
It is pretty durable but I don't know how well it will hold up to rocks and stuff on a rocker panel.
I used it to create the stripes on my Mustang, then I removed the stripes and did a different style and wheels.
Ill see if I can get a couple of pics.

The top one is the first style of stripe I tried, then I settled on the bottom one. And did the wheels.

Looks good. Mine is grey with the light silver trim all the way around the bottom and I have been thinking about doing the bottom in Plastidip.

3m makes a "rocker gaurd" that comes in a rattle can. It has a nice textures look to it. Just had my truck repainted and the body shop offered it. I really like the look
