Default Suspension Lift Kit

I've been looking into a suspension lift for my truck, nothing too crazy though, around 2" or 3" (I don't like the look of body lift kits or a really big kit). But in all the kits I've come across it just looks like a pair of torsion keys and some blocks and U-bolts. So does that mean that I can just crank the torsion bars and get some blocks for the rear and have, in essence, a lift kit?

Yes. I added 2" blocks and cranked my t-bars but still had a lot of rake. I ended up removing the blocks and it sits pretty level. Unfortunately 00 and up, I believe, Dakotas do not have any options forsuspension lifts, which is why so many go with a body lift.

Cranking your torsion bars will level you out with the rear. I brought mine up about 2in.

ok, not only did i do a body lift, i didnt have the 350, that they want for a body lift kit. so what i did was a puck lift.
im the dumbass that also removed the stock bushings, and replaced them as well with pucks. so the body is 4.5" off the frame. and belive me the ride is a hell of a lot better.. well at least i think it is.

just my $.02

I have the aftermarket keys which give you a little bit more crank than stock and 1.5" blocks. I also trimmed half of my bump stops off so I wouldn't bottom out. Ride pretty decent
