Got a trailer. Need wiring advice
Hey folks..
We just bought a holiday trailer and I'm installing a brake control in the cab of my 03 QC 4X4.
Wired the controller to the factory pig tail that came with the truck. Plugged it in and I'm not getting an indicator light on the control when I press brake or press the controller's manual activator. Instructions with the controller says I should, trailer or no trailer.
But in the truck's manual it also says there are two fuses and a relay under the hood on a harness near the PDC that "power up" the trailer tow package.
I'm just looking for a photo or diagram pinpointing the location of this thing. I've looked and there's nothing that resembles this relay or these fuses.
Anybody?

Dumb question to ask you, so don't be mad...
Did your truck come with the tow package? Maybe they all did.
Go to this site and be ready with the last 8 digits of your VIN Dodge build sheet, they'll send you a list of the factory delivery items your truck came with.
Good luck!

I'll check that out, thanks. I should have thought of that. It does have a hitch and plug under the bumper, but I can't for sure say it's factory. I also found a 10 amp fuse in the slot labelled "TRLR" under the hood in the PDC. But the way the manual described it, there are two fuses and a relay on a harness "near the pdc".

Argh.. I can't see the pic you posted. But if it's a big square one, it must be a relay? In a four prong socket?
Anyhow, I emailed the local Chrysler dealer in Regina, he emailed my build sheet back in pdf, and the tow package on the truck is indeed factory.
Yesterday I rewired the controller, this time just twisting the wires together and testing like I should have in the first place.
Problem turned out to be in the black and white wires. The black from the controller goes to the white from the pigtail, and vice versa. Now I have an indicator light when I touch the brake.
We take delivery on the trailer tomorrow. That will be the real test. I'll keep you all posted.
And dodgeramguy85, if you can get that photo to show, I'd really appreciate it.

We will try this.

If that still doesn't work then go to google images and type in "40 amp fuse" it will be green and square.
