Default Whines while accelerating

I have a 99 R/T and while accelerating and decelerating I can hear a whining type sound and it seems to be coming from underneath the cab. Has anyone else had this problem, or any ideas at what it could be. A friend of mine said it could be the torque converter but I was hoping for some other opinions.

Did you recently have the diff gears removed? New noise can't be a good thing.

A solution would be to turn the radio up!

Make sure it is the differential... i had the same thing happen to mine and thought for sure it was in the rear end.. it ended up being a bearing in the overdrive unit.
