Default High Speed Noise???

When ever i am towing or on the highway i hear this noise from the engine compartment that sounds like air or exhaust micro bursting or a short hiss in rhythym with the engine rpm's. if i am at cruise at 70 (not towing) and approach a hill the noise begins and as soon as the load is off the engine either at speed or just off the gas it disappears. Performance has not changed, mpg has not changed, fluids have not changed. No appearent signs of exhaust leak near engine block. Does anyone else have this or know. I want to make sure i do not have a small leak or anything problem developing.

Sometimes the idler arm bearing will sound like a hiss when they are in need of replacing. My wife swore she had a hiss when hers were in need. Only made the sound under load, not in driveway or decelerating.
