Default Sway Bar Lube

I have an 2004 4X4 with rather loud creaking/clanging noise comming from the underside when entering and exiting the cab.

Searching the forums it sounds like the bushings on the sway bar needing lubrication.

Can anyone point me to a picture or diagram of what the sway bar assembly looks like?

Also would silicon spray be the most effective?

The front stabilizer bar attaches to the frame just in front of the differential and also to the bottom of the lower control arms.

Google is your best friend. Just google "Dakota front sway bar" and you'll find more images.

Also, lubing the sway bar will only last so long. The bushings should be replaced to completely solve the problem. It's a pretty straight forward job and the bushings are inexpensive.

The squeak could be coming from a number of things though. Control arm bushings or ball joints could also cause the front end to squeak.

Lubing the sway bar bushings could help you pin-point it though. Any multi-purpose spray can of grease will work. Such as this... http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/CRC...ubricant-1HBK8
