Default MAP and TPS Voltage Readings

Replaced both sensors with brand new ones. The sensors are being supplied with 5 volts from the PCM, which is good. Both circuit ground wires on both sensors are 12v, which is good.

Now the TPS says its drawing 56 volts. The correct readings on the TPS should be between .5 and .9

The Map is only drawing .6 volts and should be drawing 4.7 volts.

CEL says TPS Low Voltage. I know the sensor cannot realistically be drawing 56volts. But why am I constantly getting wrong readings from both sensors?? What's the chances of both sensors being bad..

Check your meter. Make sure it isn't autoranging. You can't get 56 volts on a 12 volt system. But, your meter may also be reading phantom voltages, from other sources.

Which pins are you measuring? There are three terminals on each, think of it as a potentiometer. +5v is at one end, the other end is grounded. The center terminal will have the variable voltage out. Pin 2 on the TPS should vary as you open/close the throttle, the book specs .26 at minimum throttle to 4.49 at WOT. Pin 2 on the MAP should be about 4.6 volts at sea level.

I'll double check my meter and go from there. I agree with you that 56v is impossible lol
