Question Shuddering on take off.

Hi everyone I'm new here. Been driving this 3.9 v6 98 dodge dakato for quite awhile now. When I bought it it had this shudder sometimes when I'd take off. Only when I'd start from a dead stop. I could hold my foot on the brake n rev it up a tad then it wouldn't shudder when taking off. Fast forward to now. Tranny went out, got another and put it in. Still have the shudder. Really would like to get rid of it it, lol the shudder that is not the truck. One friend thinks it could be the rear end , if it's posi.

Your friend is right. If it is a LSDit can cause a shudder. Usually it means the clutches are worn out. Sometimes a fluid change, with the LSD additive, can help.

Do you have an LSD?

I only see your post. Who is my friend and what did he say? I don't know what LSD stands for.

This is the post you originally made. It's YOUR friend as you said "one friend." The original posts are there.

LSD - limited slip differential. Positraction (posi) is what GM used to call a limited slip differential.

Welcome to the forum. You'll get used to us

Id try changing the gear oil and make sure you use the LSD additive which you get from the dealer for 10 bucks or so, it helps prevent chattering.

Edit: just noticed Dan already suggested The same thing. Id start with that.
