Default Need Muffler Advice

2004 dodge dakota xlt

I am looking for an aggressive sounding muffler to replace my stock one. All the flowmaster and magnaflows are too short, I wanted the 40 series flowmaster, but its 19 inches in length (13inch case length) and my stock is 27 inch case length. I could cut and fit it in but was hoping to not have to do that. Does anyone know if someone makes a good muffler that fits the SXT, i can't find one??? Muffler is 2.25 inlet/outlet, straight intake, offset out.

Just add pipe before or after the muffler. What size engine do you have?

The sound is all gonna depend on the engine. Wont get an aggressive sound with a v6.. As far as the muffler you most likely arent gonna find one that fits. You are gonna have to get a section of pipe and put it in. Thats how cat back kits come.

Search youtube for some clips. The straight pipe is gonna be pretty ricerish sounding. You need to add a muffler and bump up the exhaust size to get a deeper sound.

ok cool, so if i increase the size of my tail pipe, along with the 40 series, i will get good sound/tone. ALso after the muffler theres a glass pack in the tail pipe, will that effect the results of my new muffler?

Yes remove the glass pack, all they do is make it sound like a ricer engine
