is 255 too hot??
be damn near easier to somehow come up with a hub-clutch system like that of a single speed bicycle, have a hub extend out off the water pump, to attach a V-belt to an electric motor. So that the elec motor can drive the shaft with engine off, but then the hub engages when the serp belt turns.
Drove it to school and back with just the clutch fan (no shrouding), peaked about 187 sitting at red lights with 83 ambient on my overhead. Trans temp also 180, and I had windows down and heater wide open.
Ordered new fan, will be here Wednesday, just have to cut the old one out of the shroud and get bolts to replace the factory rivets.
Truck is at the shop getting the compressor, accumulator, and oriface tube replaced. Concerned them that there's not a positive cooling device behind the condensor now, hoping they can recharge it properly.

It's floating from 183 to 187 with AC off and 187 to 195 with A/C on. I put the shroud extension on to help with the flow a little bit, A/C is only good over 35 MPH, otherwise condensor is SOL.
Cut the old motor out of the lincoln shroud, just waiting to get new motor in. Washed the shroud and fan blades in the sink, clean it all up a little. new compressor is bright and shiny against the old dirty everything else, hopefully it will blend in eventually. I'm not used to shiny new stuff.
