Planned on replacing front and rear shocks. When I got it up in the air realized lower ball joint was also bad. So I decided to wait and order new lower control arms and bolts. I have sitting here new struts/springs, new lower control arms, new lower strut bolts and nuts and new lower control arm nuts. I ordered new lower control arm bolts, but supposedly they are on national back order and have been waiting 3 weeks already. Does anyone know where I can find these bolts? Thank you.

I'm confused if replacing the bottom control arms the ball joint is included from my knowledge its riveted on no need for bolts.

Yes the bolts are not available except with new ball joints and only with new ball joints as they are metric and not available in the USA that's because the are very large and not common in the USA.

So if you are getting new lower control arms you are getting new lower ball joints with the arm so you don't need the bolts.

 

Im referring to the bolts that attach the lower control arm to the frame. I can't get them out without destroying them just like the lower strut bolt.

 

Have you soaked in PB? Once you get the load off them, should zip right out, ditto with the cross bar for the shock.

 

Yes I did, they are not coming out without destroying them. They are seized in the metal sleeve.

 

Get the front on some tall jack stands and give the bolts some good whacks with a sledge

 

I've tried that, but I still need to get new bolts. No one has a bolt lying around.

 

whats wrong with a standard grade 12.8 bolt from your local hardware store?

 

I don't think you will find a 12.8 metric bolt that big anywhere in the USA now a grade 8 possibly.

Junkyard but he doesn't want to do that for some reason he just wants to buy them.
