I'm running Hankook Optima 727's on my 96 V8 4wd. $90 each at Tire Rack. Mostly city and sometimes highway--going to Reno in a couple weeks. They are reasonably priced, I think, seem to wear okay, handle well, and run quiet. For urban warfare, they do the job. The previous owner got them about 2 months before I bought the truck & at about 8k miles, they are showing no wear.

In the past, I had a 1 ton Ford 15 pax van, and I ran BFG commercial tires. 4 for about $600 at Discount tires. I really like BF Goodrich commercials, the van took 235 75 15, and those were some tough mother tires, quiet, and very stable at 75 mph out on I-10 (never did 75, tho with a van full of passengers.)

I had my Dakota up to 105 back in 2010 with the Goodyear Tracker 2's and they were smooth as glass mind you it was mostly straight shots coming from Sedona back into Phoenix that was a hoot. This is before I completely rebuilt my front end not that my front end was all that bad just a bit lose no wandering.

 

Yeah don't get goodyears. I have wranglers and they suck in the rain. Does it ever rain in Phoenix? Hahaha.

Yokos are what had been on my parents '04 durango (AWD, hemi). Those lasted about the first set was put on at 25k to replace crappy dealer tires. They stayed there till 82k when they sold the SUV. They still a had a lot of thread left on them.

My next set are going to be Cooper Discoverer A/T3s.

1) The company and manufacturing process is in the US
2) These tires specifically last 50k, but people and customers at my shop have had them last to 55k on average and one guys has put 65k (mostly highway) on sets
3) They are cheap, not including the discounts they regularly have on them
4) A friend of mine runs these and got rid of his snow tires because of them. They handle everything: sand, snow, water crosses, even mud (not muddin').

I'm not a walking advertisement but I'm familar with the brand. And my boss and I have really come to like them, the company is very friendly Whether dealer or private person, customer service is always great.

Firestone is pretty good as well, never used them but I have heard some good reviews on them.

 

Stay as far away from Goodyear as possible. Put a set on my ex's car and were bald w/ in 10k miles, front and rear.

I have Cooper A/T3's on my truck and love them. 20k miles w/ very minimal wear. I'm sure they make an all-season more to your application that would be good too. I've heard good thing about the Firestone's too though.

 

Well I grabbed me a set of Michelin LTX® M/S2 nice tires but a bit $$ but I like the 70K warranty so far I like them.

You bought smart tires for urban & highway driving. Don't overload them and expect them to last in summer heat & you should get 70,000 out of them--tho as you know, the summer sun takes its toll.

How about this winter weather we're having?

 

They grip way better than my last set of tires that's for sure discount tires sells a lot of them in AZ. I take trips to Idaho, California and Utah that whole area so I wanted a tire that can grip in wet conditions as well as dry conditions.
