Default Just replaced my transmission. NEED HELP

I have a 2004 dodge dakota with the 4.7 ltr. And a 45rfe automatic transmission. Drive was out on my old tranny so I picked one up from a salvage yard with 75000 miles also from a 2004 dakota. I got it all back together yesterday and took it for a test drive. Here's my issue: if you put it in drive, that's where it starts out at, meaning it doesn't start in low and shift it's way through the gears. You have to start with the shifter in 1st gear and manually shift upwards. Also, when in drive going at a faster speed and mash the gas it doesn't seem to downshift. I'm hoping I simply forgot to hook something up but I'm not finding anything. Is there an adjustment I can make anywhere. Please help! Thanks

Not saying it will solve your problem, but it doesn't cost anything to try and it's worked at least twice within the past couple of weeks.

Thanks Brian. I'm changing spark plugs right now but I will try that as soon as I'm finished. I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks again

Whoop Whoop! Tranny works!!!!! I switched the relays like you said Brian. I also unhooked the battery for a bit. Before I unhooked the battery the indicators to tell you what gear your in were all lit up. When I hooked the battery back up and turned on the key each indicator lit up one at a time and then went back to the park position. The indicator lights are all working properly now. Since I unhooked the battery and changed the relays at the same time of unsure of what exactly fixed it. Maybe a combination of both? I'm just happy as heck that it's working. Thanks again Brian
