Cool 2000 Dakota Question

Hello all!

I just purchased a truck for little to nothing. It's a 2000 Dodge Dakota V6 non 4x4 Quad Cab. The mileage is very high, 250k. The gentleman I purchased it from has paperwork from a transmission rebuild a year ago. With the little amount of money I spent on it, it was worth the risk. The truck has been great for the week that I've owned it . I do have a question though. The truck runs and shifts fantastically. When I'm at a stop, however, it tends to idle a little rough. Nothing crazy like shaking or anything like that, but it's not as smooth as when I'm moving. Is this something I should look into or is it common? A little for-warning, I have done literally nothing but get the oil changed since I've gotten it. Thank You.

Check the spark plugs, might need a new set. Mine idled rough when I bought it, new spark plugs fixed the idle problem and I gain a whole 1 mpg back.

Take the throttle body off and give it a good cleaning too. Be careful of the IAC motor. The passages can get clogged and can cause a rough idle/stalling.

Hey Dakdan and blacknights, just giving you guys an update. It ended up being the IAC. Wasn't throwing a code or anything, but swapped it out and whallah. perfect. Thanks!
