Default New to me 04, oil pressure problems and cruise quit working

Hello dodge forums.

I just bought an 04 dakota a few months ago.

Within the last week the cruise control quit working. Now, during cold start ups, the oil pressure dummy light comes on. If I shut it off and start it again, it doesn't light up. I'm running a mopar labeled magneti marelli oil filter. Are these filters any good? The oil is clean and I have 3k on the current oil change. Cold start temps in the morning have been in the low 30s, and after my morning start, it won't duplicate this all day. I don't know what weight oil is in it at the moment, as I haven't changed the oil since I've purchased it.

Cruise control, what is causing this? I've googled it and it seems to be a common problem. I'm good at fixing stuff, but don't know where to start, as I'm not familiar with dakotas.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi 60/40. Welcome to the forum!

What engine do you have? What grade oil are you running? 5w-30 or something else?

I'd suggest temporarily hooking up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to the engine, just to rule out a mechanical problem.

Thanks for the welcome.

3.7 liter v6.

Oil viscosity is unknown, was what the dealer put in it during its last oil change.

I'm 200 miles over the mileage on the dealer (dodge dealer) window sticker, I'm assuming they change it every 3k?

Gonna buy a brass T and gauge for it here soon to keep an eye on it as I don't trust dummy gauges.

The mechanical gauge is a good idea. It could be a sender, we don't know, so rule it out.

On the cruise, does your horn work? Does the indicator light illuminate?

The indicator light for the cruise does not light up.

I've googled the problem and it sounds like a connection inside the steering wheel?

The horn does work.
