Default shorter belt???

Hi folks,

My air cond compressor is rattling as the bearing is gone. It looks like I can run a shorter belt. Will the heat and still work ok? I was hoping to replace the compressor in the spring. does anyone have the belt number?

You have to physically remove the compressor for the non-AC belt to clear.

I now run a 89.5 inch 7 rib belt. No more rattle from the air conditioning compressor! The sticker under the hood shows a different routing to by pass a/c.

Hmmm.... sounds like a great idea to save a little fuel and gain extra power during the winter. Even for those with working AC.

the clutch module should be separate from the compressor. Not sure how, but you should be able to R&R it.

I can get a new Napa compressor for $183(here they are $475 new) just have to drive about 30 mins to get it, but that can wait until spring. A co-worker used to do A/C so he still has his gear, will charge me $50 to capture the 134A and recharge it once I have the new compressor in.

I just went though a compressor replacement. Had a shop do it, I didn't even stay to watch.
