Default The real skinny... Durango seats in a Dak?

So I've searched and found that some people get Durango seats to fit in their Dakotas - plug and play, while others fabricate mounting brackets. I have an 2003 Dakota SLT 4.7L. Anyone know for sure what seats will fit and are truly plug and play? Same year maybe? I don't want to fabricate.

Finally, are any of the Durango passenger seats also powered, or just driver's? If so, is there a power plug for pass seat under Dak carpet?

Reason for asking, I've got the "rocking" driver's seat problem (seat shifts about .5" when braking) and figured I could expand my choices from the junkyards

I don't know if they will fit without any modification, but I would imagine they would bolt right up. The front ones anyway. And to answer your question on the power seats, yes. My Durango's front seats are both power. As to if there's a plug under the carpet in your Dakota, not sure.

Thanks. I've been told that all the SLTs have the power plug under the carpet. Now I'm wondering if I'll be able to find Durango "bench" seat powered on both sides or if that is exclusively for buckets. Wouldn't mind heated too but that's not a prio. Just for my GF. LOL

Modifying any different seat to fit could be a disaster in the works they are designed extensively to handle an accident properly and not kill you.

Beware is the word of the day

The seat mounts should be the same, as long as you're talking durango to quad cab or durango to extended cab. Durango to single cab I can see not working because the seats would anchor differently due to the abrupt cab ending and needing to be re-inforced there.

I'm looking to bolt in, not modify.

Did you end up making the swap? My wife has an 01 durango r/t that I plan to use for parts some day and would love to know if her heated seats would fit in my 03 Dakota! Was actually planning on posting this question myself when the day comes. Thanks

No, I ended up performing the fix so the seat no longer rocks or slides when coming to a stop. Worked great.

I'll have to search for that fix, I'd assume its posted here somewhere. I, too, have the rocking problem upon braking. Thanks!
