Default Need some tranny help :(

2003 dakota 4x4 4.7L

So I was driving on some rough terrain and something hit my trans oil pan and punctured a hole in it. I didn't notice right away, drove about 100 ft and it would no longer move at all so I got out and noticed the big trail of red.

Got all the tools needed and I changed the trans oil pan on the ground (in the snow of course...) We slowly added fluid while checking it, and ended up putting 7 bottles of the dodge fluid (at4) in it.

So while driving home it feels like it has hardly any power off a start, and I notice it doesn't seem like it is shifting. I know it won't go in to 4th or 5th gear anymore since I got it up to 110km/h and it was still in third. (I'm thinking maybe it is stuck in third that is why its slow off the start?)

When we got home I checked the fluid again and it is no longer reading on the stick. So how much fluid do these trucks take in a case like this? I will have to wait for the dealer to open again, then add some more and see if it gets any better.
