Update.

It doesn't try to activate/deactivate when holding it down. but the second i let off the button. it attempts. So it's PCM related?
Also. Can i get my pcm tested at say, oreillys?

You don't have a CEL on do you?

If the TCM detects a problem it could trip the CEL.

O'Reilly's could scan for codes but they can't test the PCM really. I'm not sure if they can scan for transmission codes though. Most only test for P codes.

Yes, i had it scanned, i forgot the code number, but it was "Shift 3-4". So i have a feeling the pcm is good. so what does this boil down to, a solenoid? or the valve body? or worse?

The code would help if you can find it. It's probably the solenoid.

It's sending a second ground pulse on release. When you push the button, it sends a ground signal to the PCM, which deactivates the OD solenoid. When you push it again, it sends another ground signal, reactivating the solenoid.

What it is doing, is sending one signal when you press, and one signal when you let up. The switch should only send a signal while down, not on the way in or out.

Either the switch is bad, or the sense circuit in the PCM is bad. No, you cant get it tested.

But if you have a multimeter, you can test the switch. Pop the trim ring off the end of the shifter, then the button will pretty much be sitting there if it doesnt fall out. It has a plug on the end, disconnect that. Then check continuity (resistance) across the various pins, I dont know the pinout off hand
