2001 quad cab won't accelerate

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me out on this. I get on the freeway and try to speed up to traffic but my truck dont go past 45 until I let off gas the lightly push back down what is going on

If its a manual transmission then your clutch is slipping/going bad.

That's usually how it feels
