Default Lift Question?

Hey all I'm pretty new to having a dakota. I have an 02 3.9 automatic and was looking to lift it. Now I know that no one still produces a suspension lift just body lifts for the truck. I would like to run 285/75/16's would this require a body lift or just a torsion bar crank or both? I'm still pretty new too this truck but learning as I go any help here is gonna help me dearly thanks!

A 285/75-16 is pretty close to 33" (as you probably know). It may fit with a torsion bar lift and stock rims, but the tires may hit the frame when you turn the steering to full lock. They may also rub the fenders a bit when the suspension compresses in a turn.

Sorry I don't have a definitive answer for you.

With a 3 inch body lift you will clear 33's except on full lock, right now I have 31's with decent bite and I still rub on full lock while in reverse going one way.

I would atleast level out the truck by cranking the torsion bars.. that way it looks better and you get another 1/2 - 1inch of travel

I did a 1 1/2" block lift in the back and cranked the front to match the same height. I'm running 33x10.50's. The tiers rub the frame at full lock. Other than that it's fine in town, but if i really flex it out off road the rear tires hit the lower rear side of the wheel opening. It was just enough to bend the metal back about 1/2".

Do a 1" BL and crank the torsion bars some. Should have no problem clearing 33's.

Will need a body lift. I ran 32/11.50/15's on my dakota and I just had the tb cranked. I know my tires were close to rubbing my bumper. They did rub my frame at full lock too.
