Default Smoke in the Pipes

Hey guys I have a question. Today upon leaving work I had a friend of mine call me and tell me that I had some blue smoke coming out of my tail pipes when I pulled out of the driveway. I have never heard of this when someone has only 23,000 miles on a 2004. No clue as to why this would be happening at all? I have felt a small power decrease since about 20,000 miles, however I felt that this was due to the larger tires and rims I have put on it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have also noted another issue with my tranny. Only when the Dak has been sitting, ie at work, and then leaving, I noticed the tranny seems to be hesitant. Does anyone else have this issue? I did have the valve control body replaced a while back but no issues with it until now. Again any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all for reading and hopefully replying to this post.

blue smoke consistantally almost always equals rings. who knows, your truck might have gotten the "bottom of the box" rings, they're called that because the ones at the bottom of a dealer box are almost always bent. and thoes are the same ones they install at the factory (from the same box). compression test should tell you a lot. If the problem was one time, like after a oil change - still get the compression test (safe vs sorry).

trany service - it will tell you a lot, especally from a shop with a trans computer reader (reads the signal from the trans to the ECU).

if it only does it when you start it then more than likely it is valve stem seals....if it does it all the time then it is the rings........you will have to check the codes on the pcm to see what is going on with the transmission.
