lost at 97 mph

Anywho, your best bet is to find someone who has something like a Hyper-tech, and ask them if they'll do ya a favor!

however the above posts do have a point - you might want to make sure your tires are speed-rated for the speeds you want to go. If they're not rated the centrifical force of the the spinning tire will pull itself apart, and having tread seperation and/or a blow out at 100+ mph is usually a bad thing.
Good luck [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Actually its not the centrifical force that causes the problem. Its the tire overheating at speeds above its ratings. I've had race tires let go at over 100. Isnt fun. Driving 100 in a straight line really isnt that hard. Its when you encounter an emergency that where the problem starts. THATS what nails these kids who "attempt" to drive like they are racers. They dont have the proper training to drive at speeds like that, and usually dont have a vehicle set up to handle the speeds. Wanna drive over 100? Leave it on the track. Go flying by me at 100+, teh state police will be called.

Quick note on that i do belive that 1s the unit has been used it copys the vehicles VIN number so you can only use it on that vehicle it was first used on. On any other vehicle it gives them an error code..

i got a 4.7 ltr that shuts off at 97 mph which is a joke. how do you get by this? i talked to a dealer and they are stupid so i am desperate and any help would be helpful and a chip won't work. it just makes it get me to 97 mph faster then shuts off.

The Superchips or Hypertech power programmers supposedly raise the top speed limiter, they both run in the neighborhood of $320 or so to purchase.
You can also have your PCM custom flashed for additional features that the Hypertech and Superchips just can't do (ie: shift points), but that requires shipping your PCM off to companies like Mike Leach (reachable via www.socaldakota.com) or B&G Chrysler (www.bgchrysler.com).

Hyper and Super, DO NOT get rid of the limiter. It raises it. You wont be ablt to set it to 200.. the most is 128mph, i use to have one, got rid of it, about to get a custom flash.
If you can find a shop that has OBD or any other car software programs they can easily go in and set it to 200+
But like the above posts.. going 130 on stock tires and a truck/car that has tons of body roll is NOT a good idea.
Hell even B&G Flashes dont even get rid of the limiter. Im going for the 408 flash and it raises it to 140, but with stock gears i bet i can only get up to 150 before i run out of gears.
Plus to i dont think ill be going 150 anytime soon.. not that fast yet on a 1/4.
