fuel pump
I've got a 02 Dakota w/a 2.5 , standard . I think the fuel pump went out on it. No fuel pressure at the intake / replaced the fuel pump relay and it worked for a second then stopped again . I found a company that sells the pump alone along with the filter , instead of the whole assembly . Just wandering if anyone else has ever done this . Not sure about making connections inside the tank . Thanks in advance for your help !
Not sure if I posted this , but my truck is a 02 Dakota with a 2.5 , standard . I've had tons of problems with this . All the way from it cutting out , to replacing the head gasket . Just wandering if anyone has had the same luck with this engine . 2.5 has no power
Welcome to the forum. I merged your two threads into one.
On the fuel pump, it's probably easier to replace the entire assembly. Not sure if it's the original or not but other parts can fail and cause evap leaks.
We have a few guys with the 2.5. They should be along shortly.

I have a standard or basic Dakota with the 2.5 had it for 15 years never had any problems like you but that depends on how hard you drive it I admit I'm a bit of a curser these last 9 years.
Only problem I have had is two rads that blew up on me then the basic stuff ball joints brakes locking up nothing major.
The 2.5 is not a speedy Dakota you can pick it up some with a few changes
You have a different trans than my 98 not sure if that's good or bad
The 2.5 is a super simple engine
If you want power move on but I have had my 2.5 up to 110 mph she was smooth as silk but going up a steep hill she lugs down some that's for sure I hit hills at 90 + mph to get it in the power grove..
Like any auto if you know how to drive it it makes all the difference in the world.
Know your power bands Im talking manual trans auto you don't have much control I think the 2.5 needs a manual trans to get the best from it.
