my 01 dak. the brake light came on. and the pedal is not feeling right. that's ok my mech can fix it. but my paper factory service manual does NOT say which brake fluid it use. DOT-2. DOT-3. DOT-4 i dont really know what number they are up to now. but my mech will. they did the same to tire numbers. i learned one number system for tires in high school the shortly after they changed the number system.

 

DOT-3 on the brake fluid. It should say it on the cap as well.

 

opps havent had time to check cap. my mom was in the hospital sunday and monday. she had high blood pressure. the hart test showed NO clogged veins. so we think she wasnt taking her meds. my #2 son is a medic in nat guard. he is great. some times i dont know which son i brag on the most my #1 son or my #2 son.

well i did add brake fluid. DOT-3. the pedal is better. but still need my mech to look at it. i did see some brake fluid marked as DOT 3-4. thanks for the info.

 

Both will work, MOE. Anything else, does not work.
