02 3.9

This is just out of no where. I can hear the fuel pump prime but haven't checked for spark yet but something alarmed me.

When I start the truck and hold the key for 3 seconds the truck "chokes" and cuts off. Dash goes black even with the key in the ignition and still turned.

It'll keep cranking and trying to start and then just stutters, chokes and black dash.

No codes.

Where should I start?

Bad battery? Maybe bad coil? Definitely sounds like an electrical problem, whatever it is. What is the voltage at the battery?

Well I tried this morning and she fired right up. We did receive a ton of rain yesterday (35mm) but I didn't drive the truck. I'm guessing the distributor somehow got wet.

Appreciate the insight tho.
