Hello. I have googled up and down, and even went to O'Riellys auto parts to ask this question, and just my luck the employee who helped me and who was working couldn't answer my question.

Here goes my explaining; I recently bought my 97 dodge dakota and my driver side window wouldn't roll down. I assumed off track. (didn't even notice this before purchase. oops) When I took the door panel off, to my surprise it was off track, way off track.

The previous owner took the window off track and self-bolted the window up. The window regulator was /slightly/ bent, that's why it wouldn't roll up and I assume the previous owner just decided to bolt the window up.

Now. I fixed the regulator. However, I apparently am missing something from the window. Two black things on the window itself from the front and back. i know this because i see them on the passenger side and in pictures i had googled. I thought it was something with the regulator but its the window.

Hopefully someone here can help tell me what those two black pieces are called, how or where to get them, so I can fix my window finally.

Do you mean the black things glass drops into that connect to the regulator?

In the attached pic, what the red line is pointing to?

Odds are that whatever you are looking for your going to have to find at a boneyard. Odd parts are getting hard to find for our trucks.

 

I know a few people just use silicon to replace it with but you must get it glued correct or it will not work.


Try calling an auto glass shop they may have a solution for you
