You've got way too much free time on your hands. Lol.
My truck got washed... idk. A couple months back.
Its crappy out.
Snow, thaw, wet roads, slush, freeze, thaw, snow, muck, etc over and over.
Big puddles clean well. Lmao.

Ps: Oiling? Good idea.
I don't. Don't know anybody that does. Nobody. Ever.
Must work.
Not an option around here.
My used motor oil in a sprayer would work.
Could oil my driveway at the same time. Keep the weeds down.
Shh, people would get pissy.
Lol. Sorry, I'm just rambling now.

Use one of these year round and you won't even get wet. Even washes the wheels pretty well after I spray on wheel cleaner. I removed the adjustable stick on mine and glued a solid one into place. Got mine from Costco many years ago... love this thing.

Thats what you gotta do to fight the rust. Id much rather spend that time then spending 3 hrs heating and cutting bolts just to replace something. I use motor oil in the doors and cab corners(where the black rubber plugs are) Just have to do it where you dont mind oil dripping for a few hrs. My pap gets his whole truck oil sprayed underneath. Its a 93 dakota 140k on it and the truck doesnt have a spot of rust on it anywhere.

EPA. Not a problem till yard get caught. Lmao.

Like in the 80's when we burned railroad ties and oil filters and had a drip system to burn the old used oil in the shop wood furnace.
Lol.
Still use the furnace but just clean wood and pallets now.
Kreasote ties and oil stinks to much to burn in town. Lol.
People are soooooo sensitive nowadays.

Not referring to anybody inpeticular actually. Just people.

And yes, stay on topic. What was the topic?

Oh ya. Three pages of shackle talk.
Did we ever answer the original question?
