Default Brush Guard

I can get a used brush guard for my all black 03 Sport for a low price but it needs a little love. Has anyone ever srayed one of these with something similar to spray in bed liner? In theory, it would come a nice black and take a good beating without showing much wear. Just looking for opinions. Thanks!

Spray on bedliner is what most people use for a texture. I recommend staying clear of powder coatings and chrome, they chip easily and are hard to repair or remove.

I coated my front bumper with spray-on bedliner and I've been really happy with it. I've also seen parts similar to yours coated in it and they look good, too. I say go for it.

Thanks for the input. I finally got a hold of a couple relatives who own a body shop and they said the same thing. I figured I wasn't the first one to come up with the idea, but didn't realize it was so popular! They even offered to do it for me next time I'm in their part of the country for the great price of a few beers. I'm thinking I'll just put it on as is for now since I was already planning on visiting them this summer. Thanks again!

I don't see a brand stamped anywhere, but its snowing here today, so I didn't look too hard. When we tryed to mount it today, we couldn't get it to match up right on the lower mounts. Found this Westin manual that looks just like it. Turns out I'm missing 2 lower mount brackets. After sending this picture to the guy I bought it from, he says he noticed them last night still on his truck and wondered what they were for. He'll have them to me tomorrow.

I'll definatley have pics to post. Didn't realize the ones I have on my profile are from when I first bought the truck with topper. I now have bug and window shields and a tonneau cover.

Should I take the bug shields off? I've never seen one with both bug shields and brush guard. Maybe it won't look too bad. If it does, shields will just go to the wife's R/T Durango. She needs a new one anyway

Well, I finally got it on a week ago, but its been raining or snowing ever since. Here's a few pictures though.

Looks nice, can't wait to clean it up and paint it. Might just do it myself if I can make a little room in my garage when my tenant moves out. If I just use some bed liner stuff, does it matter what I use to clean up rust with? I'd assume that stuff goes on thick to hide any deep scratches or blemishes. I've been told just to make sure I use a good primer once any rust it gone. Also, any feedback on the guard matched with bug sheild?
