Default Oil guage dropped and wont come back up

I have an '03 Dodge SLT QC V8 5.7 Hemi 2wd and for a while the oil gauge was dropping temporarily then came back up. Usually this happened with a bump but now it has dropped and won't come back at all. I have changed the oil, made sure the oil filter was tight, checked the sending unit, and the oil pump seems to be fine....what is the chance it's the gauge itself???

Default 97 Dakota oil pressure

After my 97 dakota warmed up it would read zero oil pressure, idle it up and it would come back up , so I changed the oil pump and also the oil pan gasket due to it leaking, but it still does the same thing, I haven't replaced the oil pressure sensor, because I know my truck, when there's absolutely no oil pressure ( parked on a very steep hill, 4 low backing up and there was no oil at pick up screen, they ticked right after oil pressure lose, so I cut the engine till I got to the bottom of the hill, started up , oil pressure and ticking stopped )the lifters tick like hell, so I don't worry about the gauge going to zero, only with they go to ticking

I moved these two posts into a new thread.

Camo, put a mechanical gauge on the truck and verify the oil pressure.

Is this a Dakota? If so when was the engine changed?
