Hopefully it will be ok. I just turned the motor until the piston dropped a couple inches and wiped it clean with a lint free cloth covered in WD40.

I got the new head on. Hopefully I can find time in the next week or 2 to get the rest of it bolted back together.

It's been kind of hard finding time lately. We've got a little girl due here in a couple months so most of my time is going towards getting the world ready for her...

He is active on the site but has not been here since 10/2/14. You might have to send him a PM if he doesn't notice that this thread has new posts.

I got a reman head from RockAuto and have been driving it as a daily driver since. I've got about 40,000 trouble free miles on it so far. I do burn a little bit of oil. Guessing from the valve guides on the head with almost 200k miles on it. But not enough to tear into it again.

I've got some cams from an 08 4.7 sitting in the garage and will likely swap them in along with the 08 intake manifold and a custom tune if I ever get around to replacing those valve guides.
