Did a 2000 have key fobs ?
The 2000 Dakota I recently acquired doesn't have any key fobs, I was curious if this year of truck had them and if so what do they look like? I was at a wrecking yard the other day and they had a pail full of diff ones, only $5 ea so if I knew which one it originally had and if they can be programmed I would go get a couple
It "might" have key fobs, if you have power locks and windows it most likely does. It was an option. You might contact Dodge for a build sheet which lists all the options, look for RKE (remote keyless entry). It may be listed in the glove box too.

Your dealer will have to program the new fob if you don't have one already.

Are you planning on getting a remote start anytime soon? Don't do what I did, I paid $20 for a pair of remotes, then the $40 charge at the dealer. A month later, I found a deal on remote start unit and it came with the lock/unlock feature.
Dan has you set up, though.

most of the time power locks and window option came with the key fob. also most if the keyts gray it a chipped key and they diffently came with the fob. you can do a vin decode at the dealer and they should be able to tell you the package that was ordered with the truck from the factory.
