Default Rancharo Shocks?

First sorry for mispelling the title - RANCHO Worth the money? I want to stiff'n up the truck it drives too SUVish when turning corners..

I currently have Gas-a-Just (premium) ones on it now.. I've read a few 2-3 threads on this forum saying they were bouncy I'm assuming that means basically what I'm trying to avoid.. Gabriel Ultra's was recommend; anyone have any insight.?

I want to stiff'n up the right ... THoughts ?

I have rancho on the back I have no complaints but I have the small basic Dakota the lightest Dakota out and don't tow or haul any loads to weigh the back down.

A couple of possible reasons for 'mushy' cornering, old/bad sway bar bushings and
'wimpy' tires.

I had a set of Rancho RS5000 for a while. If you want a stiff ride that is the shock you need, it was stiff as a board and real uncomfortable. I sold them on Ebay because they were special ordered so Advance would not give a refund. I bought Gabriel Ultra's at Autozone and they are a lot better. I tried several different shocks and for me the Ultra is the best.

I did the bounce test for the Gas adjust KYB's on there now; they seem to be fine.. tires are Goodyear Duratrac's..

I'll check out the sway bar bushings anything i should be looking for other than obvious cracks and such?

I know the sway/lean turning is normal but i just feel like it's a little too mush for my taste.. guess I'm wanting more of a3/4 ride out a barley 1/2 ton. LOL.

Bilstein are the best try them. Factory shocks on heavy ford f150 and f250. I have them on my 04 Dakota

I liked my RS5000's. Tough shock. But I prefer a gas shock.

Well those are good enough tires for sure, maybe add some more psi...

I might be a little late to this but with my quad cab, I've got monroe reflex shocks. They aren't terribly stiff, but they are smooth. Living around the DC area it was needed because of the poor roads. But combining the reflex upfront with cranked up torsion bars and the load assisting shocks and super springs in the back. The whole truck is stiffer and rides better. Especially offroad/gravel roads are enjoyable, with the added rear suspension, carrying loads over rough terrain is less worrisome too. I hope that helps some more 2 cents.

Well i do have my torsions cranked.. but rather they are factory or cranked feels about the same..

Secondly my *** end likes to slip one side or another when turning on loose gravel or wet surfaces.. i was thinking maybe there was something i could do shock wise that might help it out?
