Installed a used bedliner... ways to prevent rust?
#11
Thought you guys might like to see the finished product... All in all, it was well worth the less than hundred bucks that I spent. The used bedliner that I pulled from the boneyard didn't have the tailgate piece. I picked up a heavy rubber mat type from summit racing, seen in the last pic. Very nice addition as it prevents things from slipping (including me), when loading or transporting. The rail caps were from the boneyard too.
There is a portion of the bedliner on the (left, near tailgate) that seems to be warped. It won't lay flat. I'm going to hit it with the heat gun at some point.

I should have taken pics of how I prepared it. One of the advantages of getting it from the boneyard was being able to see the wear points in the the bed of the donor truck. Those are the points that I super-glued rubber strips to on the bedliner.

So what did you do? Just rubber strips under the bed liner?
And did you make sure to get the top of the wheel wells too? I like the factory bed liner... slide things in easy, don't scrape up my knees unlike Line-X; only downside is that my bed has a hole on the side and is rusting on the top of both wheel wells.
So just be aware of that!

The Mopar liner will rub through the paint on the rails too, so watch for that.

Love the tailgate mat. Hope it's durable too. I've noticed my Mopar tailgate liner likes to warp and pop out the screws in the heat of the day. I was thinking of buying a spray can liner product and just coating the tailgate with that. Since the load always slides forward, I am not worried about denting the tailgate through a spray on liner. What do you guys think of that?
