Intermediate steering shaft

Watch out for Dorman... I've heard bad things about the quality of their parts. With someone as important as steering, I'd go upgraded Mopar.

Got'r done, glad a friend stopped over. It went pretty well, took my time, had to bug a 10mm socket off the neighbor, had a few beer breaks, all bolts came off easily. You can get by loosening everything and tightening up, but a helping hand getting both ends on and off should be required. My only advice would be to pay attention to the end that bolts to the steering wheel, just under the dash. It can only go on 2 ways, it's kind of oblong and the holes drilled in the old and new are a bit off center. If you have to wrestle a bolt in for half an hour ,that's when you have to turn it 180*.

I went with taking off the wheel and fender liner. I also used a smaller tool to separate the spline end, so no need for a crow bar really. I will have to get some fasteners for the liner coz most of them snapped and ricocheted around the wheel well. I also scraped and wired brushed what i could and used up some black rusteolum paint.

Just want to add 1 more thing, the test drive was almost amazing. After replacing most of the front steering and suspension, this took up any slop that was left in my steering/control. Wish i had done this 2 -3 years ago. If the Dorman lasts for 10 years i'll be happy. The old was , well 18 with some road salt thrown in...
