Default 5.2 swap into 99' Dakota

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum, new to Dodge and new to trucks, but have much experience building/modifying cars.

My Question: What is required/what are the complications to swap a 5.2L(2000 Dodge Ram 2wd) into a 1999 Dodge Dakota 3.9L, AT, PS, No AC, No power windows or locks. I have the complete 2000 Ram as a donor vehicle so I'm hoping that makes thing easier.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

motor should drop straight in and you'l just need a PCM for a 99 Dak 5.2

Thanks Guys,
Seemed like a straight forward swap...bolting the engine in anyways. Just so I've asked, the 2000 ram 5.2 pcm will NOT work in the Dak?
And use engine harness from the 5.2? or keep the V6 harness and add wires for the 2 injectors?

Thanks again!

Probably easier for you to just splice in 2 new injectors opposed to swapping the harness.

And I believe the PCM has to be from the same year Dakota with a 5.2 - not sure the technical reason why but I"m sure Magnet or Dan could answer that.

You need the PCM for a Dakota. The PCM connections are different on the Ram.
