Welcome to the forum.

You need to find a Trac-Lock rear end OR use an aftermarket carrier. Do you have the 9.25 or 8.25 rear now? Check the cover bolts. 10 bolts is the 8.25, 12 is the 9.25. You can use either if you swap out the rear. You might have some driveshaft mods though, the pinion flange changed a bit over the years.

It might be easier to just swap out the entire rear

I don't know what he means by a locking pin.

On the factory LSD there are clutch plates that direct power to both wheels even if one slips. It also allows you to turn without damaging the tires. If you truly did "pin it" then you'd have a hard time making turns.

How much do you want to spend? What do you plan to use it for? Do you want an LSD or a true "locker" style rear end. A locker will give full power to both wheels but is only enabled when conditions warrant it.
