Default EVS II please help

Hey guys. I searched for this prior to posting and came up with nothing.

I picked up a 1998 RT Club Cab survivor. It's got the EVS II factory alarm that is either out of adjustment or not working right. The alarm chirps in and out of the truck. If you open the door when the truck is unlocked it goes off. It chirps with every fob button press - "chirp" etc. Annoying is an understatement.

Give that the truck is old with high miles. What's the best approach for eliminating, or fixing this alarm? I can't even really get near it to start working on it without the alarm going off. Over and over and over again.

I've rolled the **** back counterclockwise on the "sensor". It was already all the way back.

I can't find any specifics on it. Since I don't know what all is included in the alarm, I don't know what to try and remove. And I sure don't want to lock out the starter or something stupid like that.

Is it the alarm, a sensor, and the bullhorn thing? Why couldn't I just carefully deinstall it?

Thanks in advance, and I'm buying the beer for any help you can send my way.

You can just uninstall it.

Here's a link to the manual:

What kind of beer?

That looks like THE document. So it's the device, the sensor, and the horn? Does that sound right?

Yes it looks like all 3.

Try adjusting it, per the manual, first. Then if you have to, start removing it. At least the ignition harness looks like it just connects so that there isn't and damage to the OEM harnesses.

There should be dip switches on the main unit of it, and one of them controls the chirping when you unlock and lock it. I don't have my manual with me to check it, but I should be able to over the weekend.
