The torque convertor should sit about 3/4" behind the front of the bellhousing. If it came forward any on the input shaft, you'll have to spin it a bunch of times while pushing back. Should pop 3 times (stator, input shaft, front pump). Then line the bellhousing up on the dowel pins and slide them together.
