I realize this question isn't specific to the Dodge Dakota...still....

Any recommendations for removing the double-sticky tape used to adhere dorr-mounted vent shades?

So far I've tried GooGone, Isopropyl Alcohol (40%) and nail polish remover.

Thoughts?

Use a eraser wheel on a drill it will come right off!

 

Wait...I don't know what an "eraser wheel" is, but I DO have a Dremel tool with those soft and white buffing-type wheels (that I used to take off some of the discolored/peeling clear coat on the headlights). Is that it?

Ok...I know this is a bit far afield, but what about taking this guy's idea (http://www.instructables.com/id/Make...Sanding-Wheel/) and using the pencil eraser on the Dremel screw-head mount? Bad idea???

 

Spend the 5-10.00 for a good eraser wheel. It will be easier in the end and much faster.

Recommendation heeded; did a really good job. There are still the thin lines where the double-sticky ended, but still; a huge improvement. Thanks!
